U17C2 Girls take another 1st place Championship at EauClaire Tournament 2007
Golden Valley Phoenix U17C2 Girls Team Records Second Tournament Championship of the Season 2007 The Golden Valley Phoenix U17C2 Red Hot Chili Peppers team took home its second championship trophy this season at the Eau Claire United Tournament June 16, 17. The Chili Peppers lost the first game against the CW (Wausau, WI) Heat 1-0, and defeated the New Brighton Blaze 3-2 and Edina Sting 1-0 prior to winning 1-0 against the same CW Heat team in the championship game. According to head coach, Dick Carson, "The girls were thrilled to have another opportunity to play the CW Heat in the Championship game. Goalie Elizabeth McQuiston only allowed 3 goals throughout the four games. Jessy Tumini was the Chili Peppers lead scorer. "We feel especially encouraged with these victories due to the hot, windy conditions." Carlson mentioned. Red Hot Chili Pepper team members include: Marie Carlson, Bobbi Erdman, Katie Hatlestad, Jackie Kalin, Lindsey Kane, Mikaya Larson, Krista Maehling, Erin Manoles, Elizabeth McQuiston, Brittany Norby, Michelle Palm, Brittany Patil, Jessica Patil, Brittany Rice, Liz Schoff, Sarah Schumacher, Emily Svensson, Jessy Tumini, and Wendy Woessner.
