Phoenix Firebirds Win Indoor League Jan/Feb 2008
The U16C1 Girls Phoenix Firebirds won the Indoor League Winter II session at Ralia in Maple Grove. The games were January 8 thru February 24, 2008. The Firebirds won 6 and lost 2 regulation games. They beat the Misfits 5-4 in the semi finals and qualified to play the Wayzata Inferno in the championship round. They won 3-1 for the championship. This is the 4th year the Firebirds have done Winter II Ralia session and their first championship. The team scored 38 goals while only letting in 25 The team winning team included: Jenna Basman, Shannon Berglund, Bridgit Bergquist, Katie Copouls, Meagan DeYoung, Amanda Eidem, Kelsey Jacobson, Kaley Johannesson, Nikki Klucas, Bailie Leutem, Melissa Plooster, Kara Ryan, Anna Versen, Natalie Wolf and Coaches Steve Klucas and Neville Basman.
