The Golden Valley U13C3 Girls compete in Duluth Head of the Lakes Tournament June 2009
The U12C3 Girls, the Red Devils, traveled north to Duluth June 12 - 14, 2009 to compete in the Head of the Lakes Invitational. The girls had a great time off the field, seeing big ships go through the canal, feeding french fries to gulls, climbing on the rocks, exploring Lester Creek after a picnic lunch, taking in the movie "Up” and spending the nights together at a cabin on the shore of Lake Superior. On the field they earned a 3-3 tie and a 6-1 victory over their two C2 opponents and a 4-1 loss to their C1 opponent, tying for 2nd place in their bracket despite playing teams 1 or 2 levels higher! Congratulations Red Devils! The Red Devils are also enjoying an impressive season which so far has got them tied with 4 other teams out of 68 U12C3 girls team for 100% points. The Red Devils have won 7 games with no losses or ties so far scoring 24 goals and only allowing in 3. There are still 2 regular season games left for the girls.
