U15C1 Girls (Firebirds) get to Semi Finals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Chill-Out Tournament April 2007

The Golden Valley Phoenix Firebirds U15C1 Girls team started 2007 with 3 straight wins.

The Firebirds went to Cedar Rapids, Iowa April 13 - 15, 2007 for the Chill Out Tournament.  The Firebirds won their first 3 games to quality for 1st seed in the semi finals. 

Game 1 was against a tough U15C1 Des Moines Menace team.  The Firebirds won 1-0.

Game 2 was against the Cedar Rapids Soccer Association team and the Firebirds took another shut-out with 4 goals scored.

Game 3 was against a Kelixx Intra team.  The firebirds won 4-1. 

The Firebirds made it to the semi-finals only to be shut out 2-0 by a tough C1 team, the St. Paul Blackhawks who went onto win the tournament 1-0 in a shoot out against Tonka United Storm.

The team is coached by Neville Basman & Steve Klucas.  Kim Klucas is the team manager.  17 of the 18 players were able to make the trip to Iowa.  The team players are: Jenna Basman, Bridgit Bergquist, Katie Copouls, Meghan De Young (who was sick and could not make the tournament), Amanda Eidem, Rose Geiwitz, Meaghan Hughes, Kelsey Jacobson, Nikki Klucas, Rachael Koene, Amy Morgan, Laurel Oswald, Emma Peaslee, Emily Peterson, Melissa Plooster, Anna Versen, Abby Werner & Natalie Wolf
